Medicine Dance
in Costa Rica
5Rhythms with Jonathan Horan
Yin Yoga with Bella
Medicine Dance retreat at Blue Spirit islocated in the awe-inspiring landscape of Nosara, Costa Rica. It is an honor to humbly share the magic and depth of Gabrielle’s maps in a place that has such raw beauty.
The deeper teachings of the 5rhythms practice tap us into the most elemental, powerful part of us and move us beyond steps into the very spirit of the dance. From here, we can view ourselves in the bigger picture and transform our personal wounds into tribal offerings.
Although we will be moving through the territories of Waves, Heartbeat and Cycles, our focus will be less on our personal story with all of its intriguing entanglements and more on the universal connections in these teachings -- our deep yearnings to be real, to be connected, to know our place.
During our time together, we will offer Yin Yoga classes by 5Rhythms/Yin Yoga Teacher, Bella Dreizler.Yin Yoga is a beautiful compliment to the 5Rhythms practice as it allow us to sink in and stretch out the parts of our body that are being stressed by the dance.
Again and again in life, in the midst of our daily dramas, we need practices to fall back on to help us remember that we are not alone and that we can align with a higher power, a divine intelligence to guide our every move. Each of us has a unique offering to the greater community, but we often forget how much others receive from the wisdom that is born of a life experience that is ours alone.
We invite you to join us for a week devoted to the Warrior/Healer within you, held by the natural grace of the 5Rhythms and the magical power of Costa Rica.
Advanced students and beginners welcome !
This workshop counts as two days Heartbeat, and 5 days Cycles on the teacher training path.

Letting Go:
Roll & Relax Into Release
Be your own best bodyworker
Your energetic yoga or dance practice, your active life, your unique body sometimes result in physical
challenges: back problems, hip tightness, recurring foot issues, neck injuries, shoulder restrictions. And
sometimes these injuries or stiffness keep us from the very movement medicine we need.
Come to this workshop to spend 3 hours with a body expert. Bella Dreizler, P.T. has practiced physical
therapy for more than forty years in the Sacramento community and in the last decade has devoted her
clinical practice to treating mostly yogis and dancers, students from her classes and the studios that she teaches in. She has taught evolving versions of this workshop for more than 20 years with a continual focus on learning how to be your own best body worker.
This is an active guided immersion into your body to discover, open and soften restrictions with balls and
rollers and then flow right into the gentle yin poses that lead to lasting connective tissue transformation. You will leave this workshop feeling like you had the best massage ever!

Light & Shadow: A 5Rhythms Workshop with Kathy Altman Why do some days flow so easily while others are a monumental effort? Where do we cross the line from solid, healthy boundaries to outright rigidity? Why does the unknown sometimes fill us with the awe of mystery and at other times bring sheer terror?
Most of us spend our lives seeking what we imagine will finally make us feel good forever, and running like hell from everything that makes us uncomfortable. The real value of our 5Rhythms practice is to learn how to be open, available, and perhaps even playful as we get knocked off kilter or kicked out of our comfort zone. Finding and sustaining our presence, no matter what we feel or what goes on around us, is the dance that will reverberate long after the workshop ends.
Kathy Altman illuminates for her students "as on the dance floor, so in life." Over the past 20 years, her teaching has brought thousands of people back to the joy of their own, original movement. Kathy is devoted to inspiring people to live the teachings of presence, patience and practice long after the music ends. She is co-founder and co-director of the Moving Center School, California..
